The application process
Are you interested in working at Cenovus? We are always on the lookout for the best and brightest to join our team. With a corporate culture that supports development, provides interesting work, pays competitively and provides recognition based on performance and results, we strive to be the energy company of choice.
To get you started, here's an overview of the application process.
-
Step 1 – Application and early stages in the recruitment process
- Apply online through Workday. Please be sure to read the job posting thoroughly and apply before the deadline.
- Your application will be screened and reviewed by our talent acquisition team in addition to the hiring leader.
- We may conduct a video pre-screen interview with you. You will receive two emails notifying you of this next step – one informing that you have progressed to the next stage, another with the instructions and link to begin.
- In these early stages, we are reviewing and assessing your application to ensure that you meet the job requirements.
-
Step 2 – The interview process
- If you are selected to move forward after screening, we will arrange a face-to-face interview with you.
- This is a 60–90-minute interview with the talent acquisition partner, hiring leader and other employees who you could be working with.
- The interview will consist of behavioural-based questions that you will answer using the STAR format.
-
Step 3 – Offer and onboarding
- If you have been successful, congratulations! Your talent acquisition partner will be in contact with you to make a verbal offer – if you accept this, we will send you the offer letter in writing.
- Depending on the role, we may need to conduct several pre-employment screening checks which could include education or credential verification or medical checks.
- Once you have passed the pre-employment screening, we are here to help you prepare for your new role! Your hiring leader will have everything ready for your first day.
