Executive Vice-President, Strategy & Corporate Development
As Executive Vice-President, Strategy & Corporate Development, Kam is responsible for stewarding Cenovus’s long-term strategy and maximizing value for the company’s shareholders. Kam oversees strategy, acquisitions & divestitures, investor relations, reserves governance and corporate planning functions for Cenovus.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Kam has extensive expertise in strategy, business development, finance and investor relations and has led the execution of over $20 billion in asset transactions. Kam recently also served as Cenovus’s Senior Vice-President, Conventional, where he stewarded the company’s conventional strategy, and has previously held various roles in the company’s investor relations and acquisitions and divestitures portfolios. Prior to joining Cenovus in 2013, he spent nine years at Peters & Co. Limited, where he served as a Principal and oil and gas analyst, covering a wide array of Canadian, U.S. and international oil and gas companies. Kam started his career at Deloitte where he focused on oil and gas audit and taxation.
Kam is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary. He also serves on the Board of Headwater Exploration.
