Forest restoration made easy through virtual tours, videos and fact sheets

A COSIA project led by Cenovus Energy brought together forest restoration experts from oil sands companies and Natural Resources Canada to create an online suite of plain language materials about how to execute successful forest restoration programs.

Designed as a knowledge-sharing portal, the Virtual Tours of Restoration Success and the Silviculture Toolkit, a collection of 360-degree photos as well as fact sheets, videos and guide books, are useful for planning restoration work in Canada’s boreal forest and target forestry professionals, tree planters, heavy equipment operators or anyone else interested in learning more about reforestation.

Cenovus is showing leadership in the restoration of former oil and natural gas seismic lines and other linear features, for example through our large-scale, voluntary Caribou Habitat Restoration Project in northeastern Alberta.

Check out the materials on COSIA’s website.
