Superior Refinery Classic Car Show revs up donations to support Cruise for Cancer

September 2021 – The Cenovus Superior Refinery in Superior, Wisconsin hosted its first ever Classic Car Show this summer and raised funds for Cruise for Cancer – a local volunteer group dedicated to helping families affected by cancer.

Employees, contractors and retirees all gathered to showcase their own classic cars and raised more than $1,200 for the cause.

“The Cenovus Superior Refinery supports Cruise for Cancer because of the great work it does for local families at a difficult time in their lives,” said the Refinery’s General Manager, Kollin Schade. “And, we had a great time showing off our classic cars and socializing with fellow car enthusiasts.”

Cruise for Cancer donates all funds raised directly to families affected by cancer. Last year the charity raised more than $52,000.

“We are absolutely blown away by the generosity of the Cenovus Superior Refinery,” said Tony Netzel, one of the Cruise for Cancer volunteers. “The Refinery’s donation provides incredible support.”

The Refinery has a long history of supporting local community initiatives and looks forward to hosting the Classic Car Show for years to come.
