Investing in our planet to create social impact

Learn about our partnerships and social investment initiatives aimed at protecting our planet.

Our operations span many unique and beautiful ecosystems and we recognize the role we play to conserve our natural environments.

April 22 is Earth Day, celebrated across Canada, the United States and many other countries. Through our focus on reducing emissions, responsibly managing water and restoring areas affected by our operations, we demonstrate our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Protecting our planet is a priority for our social investments. We invested more than $4.7 million in 2023 with organizations working hard to create a sustainable future for generations to come.

We also empower partners like QUEST Canada, a charity that supports communities on their pathway to net-zero emissions, to find innovative solutions to environmental issues like lowering emissions and protecting our natural habitat.

QUEST develops tools and resources, convenes stakeholders and rights holders, and advises decision-makers – all with the goal of encouraging and enabling communities to contribute to Canada’s net-zero goals. QUEST’s Net-Zero Communities Accelerator Program creates custom plans for communities to reduce GHG emissions.

Through Cenovus Cares volunteer initiatives, our employees roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty, demonstrating their commitment to protecting our planet. From tree planting to sow the seeds of a greener future, to removing litter and restoring natural beauty to public spaces, they embody the spirit of sustainability through action that leaves a positive impact on our Earth.
