NOx emissions and intensity

NOx is a by-product of the fuel combustion process. Our NOx emissions decrease reflects the shift of our total production towards oil sands, which is less NOx intensive than our conventional oil and gas operations.

Our company-wide NOx emissions intensity is 51 percent lower than the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers' Responsible Canadian Energy 2013 Progress Report industry average for oil sands and western Canada oil and gas production.
