Cenovus recognized for open and transparent greenhouse gas reporting

We have been recognized for its leadership in greenhouse gas emissions reporting by being included in the 2011 Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for Canada. It’s the second year in a row that we’ve made the list, and we were one of only four energy companies to be recognized.

Over 3,000 organizations in 60 countries now measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies through the Carbon Disclosure Project. This independent, not-for-profit organization, representing 551 institutional investors, manages the only global climate change reporting system in the world. The data is made available for use by a wide audience including institutional investors, corporations, policymakers, public sector organizations, government bodies, academics and the public.

“We’re working to integrate environmental matters into our business and remain committed to transparent disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions,” says Judy Fairburn, who is our Executive Vice-President of Environment & Strategic Planning. “Our continued inclusion in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index indicates that we’re on the right track.”
