Cenovus named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
In our first year of participating, Cenovus has been named to the 2010 North America Dow Jones Sustainability Index. The Dow Jones Sustainability family of indexes tracks the financial performance of leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. The list of companies named to the indexes is based on an analysis of corporate economic, environmental, social and governance criteria.
Participating in this annual sustainability assessment allows us to benchmark our performance against industry peers and identify areas where we can improve. The end result is that we are better positioned to meet the performance commitments we have established for ourselves.
Cenovus was assessed a score of 63 points out of 100, which is 14 points higher than the industry average. We scored particularly well on risk and crisis management, climate strategy, biodiversity and stakeholder engagement.
