Kerry Dyte
Executive Vice-President, Legal, Corporate Secretarial & Internal Audit
As Executive Vice-President, Legal, Corporate Secretarial & Internal Audit, Kerry is responsible for Cenovus's legal, Board, subsidiary, corporate governance, and internal audit matters.
Prior to his current role, Kerry was Vice-President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for Cenovus's predecessor company where, in 2002 he participated on the corporate project to create Encana when Alberta Energy Company merged with PanCanadian Energy Corporation.
Kerry joined the company in 2001 as Assistant General Counsel. He has been practicing law for more than 25 years. His industry and law firm experience has been primarily in securities and corporate law, corporate finance and large project development matters such as Hibernia and the Sable Offshore Energy Project.
Kerry was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) by the Alberta Minister of Justice in 2003 and received his Institute of Corporate Directors certification (ICD.D) in March of 2009.
Kerry is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, The Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Petroleum Law Foundation, the Association of General Counsel of Alberta, and the Association of Canadian General Counsel. Kerry was a founding director of the Kids Up Front Foundation and is currently a member of the University of Calgary's Law School, Dean's Advisory Council and the Board of Governors of Hull Child and Family Services.
